I Organized My Fabric Stash!

I got this wonderful idea here using foam core board.
I instantly knew that this was the answer to my never-ending quest to organize my fabric in a practical, accessible way. I'm always picking up cotton remnants--I just can't help myself! But then I forget what I have, and it just sits on a shelf or in a tub. But not any more . . .Yay! Many thanks to The Little Coffee Bean!

Well, that is a thing of beauty! I love the mini bolt idea, and it works so beautifully for cotton. I don't have cottons, but varied garment fabrics. They can vary in size of "bundle" a lot. I use sort of a "invisible bolt" idea, where I wrap fabric that is folded at a predetermined "depth" around a ruler. Then I remove the ruler. It looks so nice and inspring when it's organized, doesn't it.

Found your blog through Stitches and Seams. I will delve deeper...:-)

Thanks for your comment Meredith! Yes, this method is perfect for nice, lightweight cottons. My heavier fabrics--like fleece--remain folded in stacks. Your method sounds fascinating, and I'm going to try it out with my stash of denims!!
